Founded in 1972 after the acquisition of a Morris, Minnesota blacksmith shop by brothers Bob and Larry Kleespie, Westmor Industries has since grown to become one of North America’s most comprehensive energy storage, transportation and dispensing equipment suppliers. After three decades leading his hometown business, brother Bob retired in 2001. Seven years later, Westmor was acquired by fellow Morris manufacturer Superior Industries.
Starting in 2008, and even through America’s great recession, Westmor’s business greatly developed. Plant expansions at the home factory in Morris more than doubled production capacity and the manufacturer spread to new communities in Wisconsin and Kansas. In 2012, Westmor announced the acquisition of Determan Brownie, Inc., a Minneapolis-based engineering and manufacturing firm that builds fluid handling solutions for airports, refineries, pipelines, terminals and utility consumers. The acquisition and new product portfolio means Westmor has the capabilities to serve customers from the terminal, to delivery and through to the point of dispensing at the pump.
