Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Quality Assurance Manager develops, implements and maintains the quality program in the Components and Equipment Divisions.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Build an effective team is built through coaching and training
  • Continuous development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality program
  • Communicate the performance of the quality system with all levels of Management
  • Promote the Importance of quality throughout all levels of the organization
PRIMARY TASKS
  • Collaborate with leaders of other departments to streamline workflows between departments
  • Streamline workflow and organization within the Quality Department
  • Perform evaluations on team members
  • Educate and train all employees an overview of the quality program and ensure they receive appropriate training
  • Ability to make decisions regarding the quality of the product
  • Define, verify, and solve existing or potential quality problems
  • Coordinate and control quality documents – including document changes
  • Calibrate measuring and test equipment
  • Work with suppliers on quality issues
  • Control costs, such as rework, scrap, and warranty
  • Do necessary receiving inspections.
  • Carry out process capability and SPC studies
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Negotiation – the ability to remain calm  and objective in all situations,  arrive at win/win decisions without compromising quality (internally and with suppliers)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of Windows-based PC software
  • Strong organization skills, written and verbal
  • Understand the concept of variation, common cause and assignable cause
  • Understand dimension styles
  • Understand tolerances and how they stack up
  • Ability to visualize a 3-D picture from a print
  • Understand and operate the following measuring equipment (at minimum): Tape Measure, Caliper, Durometer, Micrometer, Paint Mil Tester, Bore Gauges
  • Knowledge of business aspects in all departments and how they contribute to Quality
  • Strong knowledge of equipment & processes used in a manufacturing environment
