Job Description

The primary function of the Heavy Equipment Assembler is to safely perform a variety of tasks to correctly assemble, fit, and join the components of heavy and large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule and make independent decisions with minimal direct supervision given appropriate instructions.
  • Assemble, mount, and/or install component mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or structural parts into equipment products, with the aid of blueprints, work orders, and oral instructions.  
  • Operate or use various hand, power, and air tools including grinders, wrenches, hammer, drills, punches and a tape measure.  Also operate forklifts and overhead cranes with associated rigging equipment.
  • Perform work to the utmost of one self’s ability at all times.  Continuously strive to improve one self’s work-related skills, efficiency, and the quality of output.
  • Fulfill work requirements according to Superior’s quality standards determined for the assigned work order, including incoming and outgoing quality checks, and other quality inspections as required.  
  • Conserve Company resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Participate in production process/improvement, learning teams, safety teams and other programs that are asked of you.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment following 5S guidelines.
  • Welding experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanical concepts, practices and procedures required.
  • Ability to correctly use/read a tape measure and read/understand blueprints is required.
  • Heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.
  • Computer experience desired.
  • Must be dependable and use time wisely.
  • Adept at problem-solving and open to changes and new ideas.
  • Ability to work with others respectfully and professionally in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and ask questions.
  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
