Job Description

The primary function of an Electrical Engineer is to coordinate all electrical design and PLC programming.

  • Electrical systems are designed to meet customer expectations 
  • Electrical system designs are completed according to project schedule
  • Electrical system designs meet the appropriate specifications and design parameters
  • Electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of material are accurate
  • Electrical design information is organized and well documented
  • Coordinate layout and design of electrical systems
  • Perform research and selection of electrical components
  • Understand and conform to applicable electrical codes and standards (NFPA, UL)
  • Create electrical drawings and schematics
  • Complete bills of material for electrical systems
  • Programming of PLC’s
  • Evaluate and implement electrical design changes
  • Provide technical training on electrical systems to our technicians and our customers
  • Provide support to Sales, Service, and Assembly Plant teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related study 
  • Applicable experience in related field
  • Thorough understanding of:
    • Electrical relationships such as voltage, current, power, AC/DC
    • Electronic circuitry and electrical schematics
    • Machine programming practices
    • PLC programming and ladder logic (Allen Bradley) 
    • Mechanical power relationships such as horse power, torque, speed, ratios
    • Hydraulic relationships such as pressure, flow, efficiencies, power 
  • Excellent customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to visualize concepts
  • Experience using CAD Software to develop and detail electrical designs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication and skills
  • Attention to detail
