Job Description
A Department Lead is responsible for the following duties:

  • Comprehending and maintaining Key Performance Indicators
  • Overseeing the daily flow and operations within their department
  • Determining recruitment needs and keeping employee turnover low
  • Working with the safety department to address and solve safety concerns and being part of the safety committee
  • Working with the quality department to address and solve quality concerns
  • Receiving all incoming wire reinforcement and adding it to inventory
  • Overseeing the production of wire cage reinforcement for the box culvert production line
  • Working with engineers on verifying and approving shop drawings
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the box culvert and arch pipe production schedule
  • Communicating with contractors on delivery dates of product
  • Communicating with dispatch on incoming materials / equipment and outgoing product
  • Reporting production into the E-1 computer system
  • Managing employees and resources to meet quotas and deadlines
